10/22 will not dry fire after stock change

Last night I replaced the stock 10/22 furniture with the mag pull Archangel AR platform. The only hardware change was swapping out the shorter magazine release lever with a longer one. The Archangel platform looks great! But... cannot dry fire the rifle, with or without magazine installed...
