In my former life I was a tool designer so I'm familiar with fits. I watched a gun smith on Youtube remove and replace the sights on a STI 1911 and he made the comment that a dove tail likes to be removed from one side more than the other. I always thought when a dove tail cutter made a pass, the cut would be consistant and you could remove a front sight blade from either side. So my question is, should the front sight be tapped out from the left or right side or dose it make any difference? Thanks in advance!
