Folks ,
For all my fellow shooters that were caught in the path of Sandy , my prayers are with you and I wish the best of luck to you .

I finally got a decent group with my 30-06 M77 which I bought new in Dec 73 & picked up in Jan 1974 . It sat in my safe for all these years - I dusted it off and had a 3x9x40 VX II mounted . I couldn't get better than 3 " @ 100. I had the barrel free floated and the action glassed . I also switched to 180 grain handloads , which I think this twist likes although I'm not sure what it is - I'm going to guess 1-10 because it seems to like the heavier bullets ( 180 vs 165-150 ) best .
Now I want to work on the trigger . It is breaking right about 4.25 -this with all the adjustment I feel comfortable doing myself . I 've seen a BASIX brand trigger and also Timmney which I have used in a shotgun . The way I read the instructions there is wood work to be done with the Timmney but not the Basic . In fact the Basix looks to be just a part swap . I'd like some first hand information from fellows that have used one or the other or both and which they wood suggest .

Thank you in advance for your time , help & consideration. Good Shooting .
