I think either would be a decent .22LR defense weapon. The SR22 is capable. If you want to target shoot with a scope, the 22/45 is your baby. If you want a good, all-round snake shooter, get the SR22.

There's no need to choose between them when you can have both as I do. I shoot the SR22P very well but suspect I do better with the 22/45.

The SR22p works great to simulate micro and mini sized carry pistols that I have. For that purpose, it outshines the 22/45.

The 22/45 is great to simulate the 1911 class of pistol. That's what it was designed to do.

Which pistol is better? Neither one. They both shine in their respective roles.
