just bought a 30/30 winchester 94 ae i have always wanted one of these from when i was a small boy to many westerns lol i will be using on fox and deer i was looking to use the new hornady 140 grn flex tip bullets what do you use all help welcome ,thanks steve

Greetings from across the pond,

I suggest you go to the Hodgdon reloading site at Hodgdon - The Gun Powder People, and look up some loads for your 30-30. They also list fps, and psi for your powder charge.
I just looked at it, and they have 6 to 7 powders for the 140 grain bullet. This is also a good source of information for cast lead bullets for some calibers. The 30-30 is a good cast bullet shooter, and cheaper than jacketed bullets. Be sure to put a good crimp on your 30-30 reloads for safety.

I've started reloading cast lead bullets in mine. In fact, I'm taking a break as I type.

165 gr RNFP over 7-10 gr of Unique.

This is a plinking load with velocities listed between 1240-1550 ft/sec. Very low recoil and noise.

Tested it today and 8 gr gave me the best group at 50 yards.

Only thing I've shot so far is paper.

I have always used 170 grn bullets (Speer) with 34.0 grns. Of W748
