Is this round just dead in the water? I have noticed on Gunbroker that the main ones you see are the Taurus CZ clone?) and Colt 1911 (very expensive) pistols.

I've always liked this round, but with high velocity 9mm and the 357 SIG available, is it on the way out?

Yes and not

you can get them in Ria 1911's Para 1911's and some customs that are expensive.. you can load it hotter and safer than a 9mm as for the 357 sig its kind of a trade off both rounds are expensive i prefer the 38 super over the 357 sig as its a lot easier to reload than the bottle necked case

Well, I've never even shot a 357 Sig, so I can't talk about that. I bought a RIA 38 Super about a year ago, & I really like it. In fact, I would rather shoot the Super than my 9mm's. Maybe it's because it's in a 1911, & I like 1911's. What ever the reason, I'm a big fan of 38 Super. :)

When shooting IDPA and IPSC several shooters carried and shot .38 Super. I have seen some super race guns in .38 Super as well.
