Hi, Steve here. First let me say that i am still getting used to the grips on Blackhawks. I mostly shoot N frame S&Ws .I shoot a full range of loads out of these, witch includes 357,41,44 mags and 8" barrels. My 41 mag Blackhawk has a 7" plus barrel. So with that said, i am looking at what others are shooting through this configuration of Ruger Blackhawk.Target & plinking loads.

My target and plinking loads for the 41 magnum started with:

1.) Lyman #410458, 220 grain SWC, over 7.0 to 7.5 grains of Unique.

After getting a Lee #410-195-SWC , 195 grain SWC mould , and starting to run low on Unique. I managed to get some Red Dot powder , so decided to try that bullet and Red Dot .

2.) Lee #410-195-SWC, 195 grain SWC , over 6.0 grains of Red Dot works well.

These loads are not "magnum" but more like 900 fps loads, great for targets and tin cans.

I am the other end of the spectrum. I run 250 and 265 LBT WFN cast over a charge of H110. They are very near max loads. I also have a Saeco 220 that I dont cast with very often. 250 is my favorite mold

I like the 215 grain over 7 grains Unique. Great for bowling pins and fun at the range. Have a 8 3/8 barrel S&W 57. have tried real hot loads yet.

I like AA#9 in my 41's with a 210 Berry's plated bullet or a 215 Hard Cast SWC.

Another vote for Accurate #9 (15.8gr.) and a hard cast (BHN-18) 215gr. SWC...very accurate hunting load out of my Blackhawk. For plinking I'm using 5.8gr. Bullseye under a softer cast (BHN-12) 215gr. SWC.
