Can anyone explain the different series of the 44 carbine? The serial number on my gun shows it manufactured in 1973. What do these series mean? (R/RS/SP/YR25)

Thanks to winman1550! "The R stands for the standard barrel band carbine. The RS is the standard carbine with the peep sight milled on the rear of the receiver. The SP is the Sporter with the Finger groove forend. The RS/S is the RS with also a rear sight on the barrel. The Y25 is and anniversary model and will have the 25yr scroll on the barrel"
