I am fortunate to have a marksmanship range on my property. I was expecting more than this from a 7 1/2" Blackhawk in 45 Colt shooting W-W factory with lead bullets at 25 paces. Target was on old Chevy 1 ton truck door in the open position. 45 acp, 44 mag and 50 cal. black powder stuff sail on through doors cab, what ever, kick up dirt on the far side and howl off. Lower shot from the 45 Colt was stopped by thin metal of arm rest. Quien Sabe?

If a cowboy load not enough velocity. or not enough mass. a 250 grain at 900 will go thru.

These were made with a 255 gr. LPB atop of 17.5 grs. of 2400 and cci 300 primers.
First pic is entrance on door. 36 rds. you could cover the group with your hand. Second is where they came out of the door and arm rest. Third is where the exited the cab of the truck. Recoil is there and I had to work on my grip. Some of the other fresh holes were made today, with 302 grain boolits.

Load up Hornady XTP 250gr. 21 grs. of 2400 That will go thru or a 300 gr. XTP 17 grs; 2400 I put a scope on a new 7.5 SS Blackhawk and it's zeroed for 100 yrds on these 2 loads. Also try IMR 4227 20-24 grs.
