The long stainless steel ejector assembly was introduced on the KS411N "Silver hornpipe," with untapered 10-1/2" barrel and screw-on target front sight. The original long ejector housing was anodized aluminum on the .357 Maximum. The specific purpose is to completely clear .357 Maximum brass from the cylinder for convenience and to speed unloading in IHMSA silhouette matches.
The "Silver Hornpipe" (1983) followed the Maximum (1982) in production. More recently the long ejector assembly assembly found its way to the Hunter series Super Blackhawks.
