Does anybody have any thoughts or concerns with such a setup?

I was thinking about mounting up a Vortex StrikeFire II with a Ruger 30mm scope ring on my 77/357.

Mine wears a Nikon rimfire 4x32 as I wanted simple, fairly low magnification with clear glass on a budget. It is an awesome scope for the rifle.

I considered a red dot, but decided I wanted some magnification as I want a rifle with reasonably small groups at 100 yards (minute of groundhog). Plus, I hate dealing with batteries.

I have a Vortex venom on a Ruger American 300 blk and love it though tight groups at 100 yds. are hard to do hits are easy and it is min of deer.

I'm minute of Barbasol can at 25 yards with mine and stock, open sights. It's fun to watch!

Personally, I want a finer aiming point then the red dots supply!
