Howdy,

After reading a bunch of 77/357 threads I'm itching to get one for myself. I have a couple of SP101's in 357 and I had a Marlin 1894 for a while. The 77/357 seems like it could be mighty versatile and handy little rifle.

Is anyone shooting cast bullets in theirs?

I know the Marlin I had seemed to like heavier bullets and mid level velocities best. The SP101's aren't finicky but do seem to do a little better with 158 grain bullets.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I had good results with 140 gr cast TCBB loaded somewhat medium shooting at 50 yards.
I tried some 158 gr cast LSWC loaded heavy and they were all over the place at 50 yards. I even let someone else try and he got the same results. Those did shoot good in my GP100 and SS.
I tried some 158 gr cast TCBB and they were better at 50 and 100 yards but not good enough for me.

I quit shooting cast for now and will send a couple thousand jacketed down the barrel before I try cast again.

Of course this is my rifle, your results may be different.
