Hello All,

Unlike some of the other forums I frequent, this one seems to
have more members closer to my age group (42 yrs) so I can
"cry on your shoulders" so to speak, and ya'll know what I'm
talking about.

Today, Son #2 drove off with his wife and my Grand-daughter
to settle in at Fort Campbell. He's an Air Traffic Controller in
the 7th/101st AR, 101st A/B Div...........good deal for him, the
leaves have fallen FAR from the 11-Bravo Infantryman tree, but
they're GONE, and my grand-baby is GONE GONE GONE, too! They
even took the dag-blamed DOG with them.

The house is so quiet, I'd love to hear a coupla crickets right now.

On the one hand, they need to set up their own place (our daughter-
in-law and baby have been living with us while Son #2 was in Basic
and AIT) and be a family, but Allie Cole has been with us since she
was born, and it goes without saying that her Grand Dad loves her
to death.....................sigh.

Jenny and I knew this day was coming, but that didn't make it any
easier to bear.:(

Crap!

Bummer. On the bright side though, you've done your part. Sounds like you've done it right too. Now it's your boy's turn to do it right. It might be time to shoot more. Reload more. And hey, you can always post up a storm here. We're glad to have ya. :)

We felt the same when our daughter flew out of Jacksonville to be with her husband at Twenty-nine Plams. That was around 10 years ago. Then now live about 15 miles from us. Momma and I have learned to enjoy each other's company again without interuptions....I know what you are feeling, but, every cloud can have a silver lining.....:)

Yeah, guys, I hear you, but MAN I feel bad right now.

Trying to put a happy face on, Jenny and I now have the time to do all
the things we've always wanted, plus I can go shooting more.........yeah.
I always wanted to try out that IDPA thing, now that I think on it.

I ain't smiling yet, but that helped.

I know very well what you are going through. We raised one of ours and put him through 3 years of school and then the Daughter and her Boyfriend decided they wanted him.

Been there

Doin' that. Three Grandkids 627 miles away. Hard to play with them as much as I want.:( Still, they are about 9-10 hrs. away, less if I really need to get there:D

Hey Adam, it'll be okay. Lock up the house, throw your Jenny in the car and go visiting. I have 5 grandchildren that are out of state. 3 of these kids I babysat everyday until they moved to NC. They were infused into my heart. Thought I'd die when they pulled away. I still miss them but it's okay. They visit us, we visit them, I send packages, we email, have talkathons on the phone etc etc. She is blessed to have a grandfather that loves her so. Life is constantly changing. You'd think we'd get used to that but we don't. Cheer up Bunkie.
