I've used Buds over the years and had no issues, though their shipping is a little slow. But this time its getting absurd. Over two weeks ago I put in an order for over $600 to take advantage of a free shipping promotion (its a group buy so its not all for me). I was notified the order had gone to their shipping department within 24 hours, but after that, nothing. Last Wednesday, 10 days after ordering, I asked for an update. I got a response on Friday saying they were sorry for the delay but that the order would ship on Monday and they would give me a $10 coupon off my next order as compensation for the delay. Meanwhile, I saw that they same ammo was on sale again with free shipping. So it shouldn't be a stock issue.

This morning I got an email apologizing again and it looks like the order still hasn't shipped. Obviously I'm not happy by another delay and did tell them this time that a $10 coupon isn't really satisfactory. We will see what they say. I'm not in any great need for the ammo personally, but the other person involved has already paid me and does want it. If it weren't for that I'd cancel the whole thing.

Any thoughts?

Have you talked to a real person their? If not they should have a customer service number I would call it and tell the CS rep how disappointed you are with their service. Sometimes that will get you further than an e mail. Might even get you another discount coupon.

I'd call them real quick for $600 bucks. They have 3 places, you might need to call all 3.

My order still hasn't shipped. I did get an response to my last email to their Customer Service but all they did was offer to cancel the order and refund my money. My co-buyer wants to wait a bit longer so that is what I'm doing for now despite reservations about having this much money tied up and nothing on its way to me.

I bought a gun from them in November for first time. Paid with a debit from my checking account to save about $20 versus credit card upcharge. That was a mistake. Took a week to clear and then the shipping was slow on top of that. I called once to inquire and they acted like I was bothering them. Monday of this week I went online to buy another gun and their site crashed. I live chatted with them(they do not want to talk over the phone)to make sure order did not go through before trying again because I did not want to accidentally order 2 guns. They assured me order did not go through so I went online and tried again and site crashed again. I live chatted them again saying have somebody call me to take my order and they said they would in 1 hour. I got on gunbroker and found same gun $100 cheaper and bought it. I never got a call from anybody at Bud's. Bud did me a favor screwing up my order!!!!!!

As I said in my first post, I've had no issues with Buds before this, including when purchasing firearms in the past.

There is something going on and they don't seem to want to tell me what it is. I went on a 'net chat with a representative tonight and all he would say is that they've had other issues with this particular warehouse and that management was looking into the issue to try and resolve it. However, he said he had no ETA on when the order would ship. 2/3 of the order shows as "in stock" on Bud's right now. The rep did credit me $15, which I guess is nice, but that's not really important to me.

There are MUCH better places to buy ammo than from Buds.. Cheaper by far, and like 2 day delivery... bob

I ordered some ammo from Bud's last Friday. I received it today. It was also the cheapest price I could find anywhere on line. Not sure why you're having an issue but I hope they sort it out soon.

I've never dealt with Bud's and after reading this I'm pretty sure I never will!

It's bad enough that one customer writes about a truly bad experience but when a vendor has a composite review rating of 2.4 out of 174 reviews that's even worse in my opinion.

Too many options available these days to take any chances with such low rated sellers.

I'm not defending Bud's but that website isn't legit. There are several websites like that that overemphasize the negatives about businesses. Look up just about any business and you'll dig up the same stuff. Read the first few entries. They don't read like a normal person wrote them and all of them have the same writing style and structure. Bud's ain't perfect but I've dealt with them for years and there are many, many, many more satisfied customers than there are unhappy customers.

Odd that buds has been having trouble with ammo delivery .. They have been flooding my email with ammo offers over the last 2 weeks which I thought was odd.

I have bought several guns from them and each time it was a great fast experience but never bought ammo from them.

Just as an FYI ..Been using this place for a year and great service and prices

I've bought quite a bit of ammo from Buds, their 357 mag prices rock. Never had an issue. Maybe try to find out if one item is holding up the order.

It looks like the order shipped late yesterday, or at least UPS generated a tracking number for it. In theory it will be here by the end of the coming week.

I am now reluctant to use Bud's based on this experience. I looked at my order history with them and apparently this was only the 9th order I've done with them in the last six years, so they obviously aren't my go-to place. I've mostly used Natchez for bulk ammo, for example. This was also by far the largest order (in terms of cost) I've ever done through Buds. So I'll probably find something to spend my credit on and stay away in future, at least for big orders.

I have used Buds for years and I still will use them. Prices, availability and shipping is I think fair. Cheaper than many places online. A person can drive their self crazy trying to find a penny savings here and there online. So many have a few cents cheaper ammo but the delivery charge is way over the top. Yes, their delivery dog sleds do get lost once in a while, but never had an order not make it. Price matching is a little Iffy on firearms, but most of the time they get close.....with free shipping on the firearm. I like Buds, Tombstone Tact and Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore.

Glad Buds has some defenders.. Personally I don't like any of their ammo prices.. I have founds every single caliber i need a LOT cheaper.. Last purchase i made online was for 500 rounds of .32acp.. Got it for $9.49 a 50 round box...Good quality Euro GECO ammo, never had a single failure of any type.
Buds best price on .32 acp is $13.65 a box, for mexican ammo.. well over $4 a box more that what I pay... I always check Buds, but they are always more expensive than the places i buy from, and by quite a bit... bob

I just bought 3 boxes of Hornady DGS Superformance 300gr 375Ruger ammo from Bud's for $35 a box. If you know of sources where I can get 375 Ruger ammo cheaper than that I'm all ears.

Not a real common round for the online ammo places, I have seen it for $37, so you are doing well at $35 for sure...
