Been eyeing one of these for a long time, and am almost ready to make it a reality..

i've heard Sig messed with the design of the feed ramp, but double feeds are common, any experiences?

Either ordering a new 232, or hunting down an older P230..lol

AE, I went with an older 230, in part to have a project gun.

Mostly cosmetic because the 30 year old still runs like a German clock.

I know several people with 232s and have never heard a bad word about them.

There were no changes to the feed ramp of the 232. The basic reason for the change was the addition of a firing pin block to keep lawyers and lawmakers and activists happy. The grips, sights and slide serrations were changed at the same time.

The feed ramps were improved on the 225 because older P6 feed ramps had problems feeding JHP ammo.

230 or 232? Either will be a fine addition to your collection.

They seem to have good reviews, although the part that worried me was that they no longer have a recessed breach for the empty casing to rest as it gets ejected, causing it to drop into the mag well.

Just don't want to buy a $600 turd...lol

I bought a new-in-box P232 about 10 mos. ago, & I simply love it. It's the only non-American made firearm in my collection, but the quality & performance of the pistol validates everything I'd ever read about Sig Sauer.

More to the point of your inquiry, I initially had a couple of failures to eject. However, I started shooting it right out of the box, & later determined that a quick take down & lube -- the latter of which is actually provided by Sig -- would have been prudent. Since then I haven't had a single failure of any kind.

Feel free to ask any other questions you might have, as I'm a big fan of this little pistol, & seldom tire of talking up its many virtues. :)

Will do. I've yet to buy a gun that was truly junk out of the box, though my ppk was close. I got the stainless with night sights, but I've been seeing older guns like Jim's pop up for half the price, and that's got me thinking....lol

Those are gorgeous guns, I can't imagine you won't love it. I've been tempted to pick one up even though I already have the 230.

Wish I could change my sights to nightsights, but no can do on the 230. Another advantage of the 232.

Enjoy! Look forward to hearing your report, and seeing the pics!

I've got a 230SS that's worked 100%. The only thing about it is that my finger gets wedged between the trigger and trigger guard on reset (ouch!). Very good last minute, out the door, in the coat pocket, gun.

Buddy has a well used 232 Blue that's been 100% too.

They're an old design, perhaps an off spring of the PPK(?). But they work. A VG used one will hold it's value too.

should be a good gun for the $.
Congrats! It'll be a great gun.

Coat the blued finish in CLP and let it sit for 24 hours. It seems to restore the finish if it's started to grey.

Love me Sigs!
