I was wondering if anyone has encountered a problem with the QD swivel socket being out of spec? I have tried 2 different swivels, one from UTG and the other a Midwest Industies. It seems like the track the ball bearings ride in is cut slightly to shallow, preventing the balls from locking in place. I would appreciate any ideas to get it to work before I have to contact Ruger.

I received an AR556 with a QD socket that is missing the inside cut so nothing will connect to it. Ruger said to send it back through an FFL dealer. Ruger will fix it, but I have to have someone else send it.

I too have the same problem, realized the undercut is not there for the bal bearings to lock in.. I love about 2 hours from the Mayodan NC facility. I am going to call next week and ask if I can bring it to them as I wanted a tour anyways lol..

I bought a Magpul QD swivel for my AR556 ... works perfect, cost about $15.
