Do you ever think about an agency keeping track of how much ammo we’re buying? In my state you have to provide your FOID card for ammo purchases. I always think about someone keeping track of the amount of ammo I’m buying when I pay. I think, I should pay with cash (instead of debit or credit card) just to fly under the radar, but then, when I present my FOID, does it really matter?

My state does not require me to have a FOID card and we are constitutional carry now. I quit buying ammunition with anything other than cash years ago. I also have bought about half of the toys in my safe second hand, to avoid the paperwork. The less electronic footprint I have the better, as far as guns are concerned.

I doubt it. That would be a huge amount of data that would have to be gathered through different stores' various point of sale software systems.

Are they recording your ID?

In this day and age personal information is highly sought, there’s power is in personal data .

Would Socialist politicians and bureaucrats use that power against those who disagree with them? I’ve got my suspicions how about you?

If you are worried about big brother keeping track of what you buy,:) everytime you use your credit card or debit card or your store loyalty cards their is a digital track of where you used your cards. How about your cell phone if you have a smart phone and carry it with you, you are tracked everywhere you go 24/7. Their are a lot of satellites flying overhead that have very high resolution cameras that can pick you out in a crowd if they want to. So don't worry about about using your FOID card. Go forth and spend money to keep the economy going and be happy.

This is reminiscent of a prior thread pertaining to gun manufacturers sending the BATF the bullet they test fired the weapon with. Hog-wash. The ammo and bullet thing is only going to happen if the manufacturers/retailers are federally mandated to do so. Companies in general are not going to do any more than they are legally required to. If you’re concerned about it pay cash and put it behind you.

JMO but if this was indeed happening it would have been leaked out........no one can keep a secret. :p

Read the book "1984" by George Orwell .
You don't think "Alexia" hears everything you say .
Ever hear of "The Cloud" ...
Your movements can be tracked 24 hours a day by your cell phone ... every where you go every place you stop and all that info stays in the netwok .... think about it .

1984 was a little ahead of it's time but it got here. Big Brother is alive and well now. We have hate crimes, hate speech and I am sure we will have hate looks before long won't be able to use the evil eye to look at people then.

The paranoids are coming, the paranoids are coming! Think of this .... it takes 4.2 full time (8 hours a day, 40 hours a week per employee) security/police employees to track one person .... and that doesn't take vacations, holidays, or sick days into consideration. The government just doesn't have the luxury of having enough personnel to track more than a few people at one time.

They don't need people to track this. Computers can do it for them much more efficiently.

Some may think I am with the tinfoil hat crew and that is fine by me. If I am wrong, it cost me nothing. If I am right, I am off the grid.

No permit required to buy ammo here either. Plus no way that i can even remember how many i have reloaded. Not a big worry of mine.
