I'm in need of a good barrel vise or v-block to remove a tight flash hider from a pencil barreled Mini 14. I've made (and broken) several from blocks of wood with both round and v-notches. I've got a 4" bench vise. What product do you recommend?

Brownell's makes some aluminum blocks that have different notches to fit several barrel types. They are probably meant for AR's but would work fine on the Mini barrel. Just flip them around until you find the side that fits the barrel snug. They sell several other barrel vises but those are $100 and up.
Also putting some heat to a stubborn flash hider will helps, as there might be some Locktite that needs softening up.
