I shot my new Bersa Thunder 22 today. I am very pleased with the Bersa. I bought it to have another 22 pistol, in the class of the SR22P. Comparing it to the SR22P, its very close, in size, cost and performance. I shot 200 CCI MiniMags, 200 Remington Golden("New and Improved") and about 100 CCI Blazers. All shot perfectly. I am especially happy it shot the Blazers without fail, because this is the round I have found my SR22P likes, and I have quite a few bricks of Blazers in the ammo safe. Loading the magazine is slightly more difficult than the SR22P, only because the SR22P has larger follower buttons, the Bersa magazine has buttons on both sides, but they are smaller. The magazine was gritty at first, but smoothed up nicely as the shooting went on. The Bersa comes with one magazine, extra magazines are a few dollars cheaper than the SR22P magazines. The magazine has a 10 round capacity. The Bersa has 3 dot sights, with orange dots, and the rear is adjustable for windage only. The sights were set perfectly to Point of Aim, and Im not going to change them. The safety lever is a safety/decocker, and operates the same as the SR22P, down to decock and safe, and up to fire. The Bersa is a Double Action/ Single Action pistol. It has operating controls for a right handed shooter only.

Comparing the Bersa Thunder 22 and the SR22P, I think they are equal. Accuracy is the same. They are the same size. Field stripping is very similar, and just as quick and easy. The Bersa in black is slightly cheaper in price, in Satin Nickle Plate, is the same price as the SR22P. I paid a few dollars less for my Bersa than my SR22P. The Bersa is one ounce heavier, with a steel slide, and an alloy frame. The SR22P has a fully adjustable rear sight, the Bersa rear is windage adjustable only. The SR22P comes with 2 magazines, the Bersa only ships with one. Figure in the cost of a second magazine, and the Bersa may end up a few dollars more.

The Bersa is an elegant pistol, with a look like the Walther PPK, "James Bond style" is what my 16 year old daughter said. The machining is perfect, fit and finish is excellent, performance is excellent. I see nothing cheaply made, or anything that will give problems in the future. The Bersa Thunder is also available in .380 caliber, and a Crimson Trace Laser Grip is available for the Thunder series.

The target is 20 rounds, 7 yards, elbows rested. CCI MiniMag Hollow Point.

I have a Thunder .380 that I've had for several years now. I love that little thing. For it being called a PPK clone time and again it shoots so much better than any PPK/PPK/S that I've ever shot.

You'll love the Bersa 22. I've had one for a few years and it's great. Mine runs all day with the Bulk .22 from Wally World, though some don't. Shooting mini mags you can go all day long. field stripping is a dream. Accuracy not quite as good as my Mark I or II, but a very nice shooter.

I ended up buying the Bersa 380 as well. I have a couple LCPs that I just never really cared for. Shooting them isnt pleasant. I wanted to see if what everyone was saying about the Bersa Thunder 380 was true. I bought the Matte Black Thunder 380, and other than a couple little blotchy places in the finish, Im really happy with the 380. Recoil is certainly acceptable, about like a 9mm. I bought a Crimson Trace LaserGrip, and a couple 9 shot Bersa Deluxe magazines, and its been a perfect functioning pistol thru about 300 rounds now. I didnt do any fluff anf buff, just cleaned it up and shot it. For what they cost, its a great gun.
