The rain ended and the sun came out. I took a .44mag, .45acp, and .45Colt out to play. All were fired with lead bullet reloads. The only exception was the 185gr XTP .45ACP loads I made this week. The gusty wind made shooting decent groups offhand very difficult. I tried 25yds, then 20yds, and finally 15yds before I could even keep shots in the same area. All the guns shot well, but I never got a good group with the Colt Anaconda . My Springfield Armory Champion ran well and blew up a gallon jug of water with spectacular results using the XTP ammo. I had the most fun with the Vaquero shooting one handed. It's always a good time launching 250gr slugs.

I definitely need practice on 25yd head shots. Even on bad guys wearing clown noses .
Its strange, but my probability to hit a black dot IS 63% higher than a red dot. (Have been experimenting lately) i think it is not just my vision, but human vision in general. Try a black dot next time!

It was. I was out there for three hours. After I was done with handguns I set up a 100yd rifle range.
So it sounds like you made a day of it and more guns to clean than I have to. We went for two 15 minute rounds
then I took my Wife out for lunch. I have one more gun to clean then I have 200 rounds to load. Going to rain tonight
and the next 2 days so at least no yard work this week. Plenty of time to load bullets.

Yep, plenty of guns to clean now. I will also load more .45acp ammo. Time at the bench keeps me out of trouble. 😉

Deadeye Michael63's targets are always eat up in the bulls eye. I have often stated I could recycle them for the way I shoot.
I figure if all the shot are in the bullseye then the target is too close. I don't want to "waste " all that empty area on the target! 😁

I understand the challenge of longer range but ... I used to tell students that it isn't a 'Bingo' card and you don't have to use all of the numbers, staying with 10's and X's is not a bad thing!

“Sometimes it’s sweet, when the sea is raging, to look out from the land to watch someone else’s great struggle.” —T.

What I feel about seeing online pictures of the results of going out to shoot on a cold, blustery day!

(Also, little challenge quotation! No fair Googling it and anyway my translation is so bad it probably won’t help)
