On a Mark 1 even though its labeled for MK11s and MK111s only? it would
surely make life more fun if I could, thanks in advance.

The MkII, except for the 22/45, used a heel magazine release while the MkIII, both standard and 22/45 versions, used a 1911-type push button behind the trigger guard so they aren't the same.

I don't know if the MkII's heel release lever would fit the MkI.

You've probably already figured this out but...
Yes it will. I replaced the mag release on my '69 Standard (basically a MKI) with a Ranch Products mag release. Same hole placement. And also, FYI, you can use the VQ Trigger & Sear & Bushing if you want in your MkI.

I just did the same in my Standard and MkI, with a replacement from SGW! Since I'm using MkII mags, this release does work much better without being too intrusive!

As far as the VQ Ext. mag release, I'd call VQ and ask! I have it on my MkII, but then I'm also using the large healed VQ Volthane grips!
