X2...with regard to mini-mag comparisons for accuracy in my 10/22...The hollow point on a 22 LR isn't much of a hollow point in terms of actually expansion goes, not in the sense of a hollow point in a centerfire. Anyway, I have never been able to detect a difference on squirrels and rabbits between a solid point HV versus a hollow point HV load when it comes to dropping squirrels. In fact, I've done just as well on edible small game with Standard velocity loads and even 22 Shorts for close-in work. The HPs might be help a wee bit on larger varmints, but even then, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy HPs.
I will give a slight edge in consistency and accuracy to the 40 grain CCI solid points in my 22s, though. Been my go to HV for accuracy work for a long time. The HP CCIs are no slouch in the accuracy department, either, but I usually get a bit tighter groups with the 40s.
