I'm buying a lever gun in .22lr.
I've narrowed it down to a Henry Octagon Frontier H001T,

Henry Repeating Arms | Fine Rifles Made in America and Priced Right

or the Golden Boy H004.

Henry Repeating Arms | Fine Rifles Made in America and Priced Right

Just got to find one now.
I've looked at both of these rifles and drooled a bit. Can't say for sure which one I'd choose. Though preferably I'd really like them in .357 or .45.

But both of your choices are lookers. Good luck on whichever (or both) you decide.

PS... I just looked closer at the Golden Boy. That's the one I'd wind up with. They say keeping that brass receiver polished brightly can be a bit of a pain. But that's all part of being a good daddy to your boys!

Keep us posted!:D

The Golden Boy looks sweet! I'd go for that one.

If I couldn't get both, it would be the Golden Boy.
I want to get another larger calibre lever gun later.
Most likely .357 Mag, because I'm looking at a GP100 as well.

I've been considering a Henry lever, too, including the Golden Boy. However, I need to use a red dot or scope with these old eyes and the drop at the comb on the stock on the Golden Boy is excessive, at least for me - barely high enough for me to use iron sights, let alone a scope or red dot. I'm also not enthused about the inability to mount a scope base on the receiver, having, instead, to use a cantilever base. Not drilled and tapped for a receiver sight, either. Therefore, one of the standard Henry 22s would be a much better choice for me with my needs. The Frontier is stocked more like a Marlin 39 or Winchester 9422.

It seems pretty much unanimous for Golden Boy, my pick as well. One thing to note is the receiver is brass, not gold. From what I've heard, they require some up keep to keep it shiny and new looking. Not a problem for someone who loves their guns. Just something to keep in mind.

Remember, we want pictures! ;)

I would definitely go with the Octagon Frontier. I remember seeing a few Youtube reviews on it. Pretty sweet.

Now you're going to go and confuse me eh mate.
I love Rugers, there's no doubt about that, they make up half my collection. ;)
It's just that I haven't seen a bad review on the Henry and they have such a sweet action. ;) :D

James, I'd definitely go for the Golden Boy.
I'm with you on the .38/.357 Big Boy as a companion to my GP100, too.
The only downside to a Henry is that hurricane Sandy really did a job on their factory in Bayonne, NJ and they're still getting back up and running. I check their website fairly often, but there hasn't been anything new posted in a while. Good luck, brother!
