When at the computer looking for gun parts or doing gun research, I often have the gun next to me. Problem: The smooth edge of the desk is not a good place to lean a gun against for it may slip off. I wanted to just notch the edge of the desk and pad it, but the Wife Unit said no.

I had redone the interior of my gun safe and had a piece of the old rack and some two-ribbed padding left over, but how to use it?

Got an idea today: Put the rack on the pull out drawer. It is hidden when the drawer is pushed in. Pull it out, pull up the nail to hold the drawer open, and a usable gun rack!

Will let you guys know later on if the Wife Unit approves. If you don't hear from me in the next couple days, the answer is "probably not"!

That's a good idea. Allot better than leaning it against a smooth surface and have it slide off. I know I've made that mistake a few times myself. Especially when I'm in a hurry.
