Covid 19 must have been good for Ruger gun sales. My friend shot my LCP II 380 and now he wants one for pocket carry. We checked out 6 different gun shops in our rural area and no do find. Same story at all, can't get them from our distributors.

We have a web site called Utahgunexchange.com You can find guns and ammo there but at a premium. 223/556 from 60 cents to a dollar a round. Brick of 22, $50 or higher. Unbelievable what people are charging. .Pretty much if you don't have ammo you aren't going to get any. It is the same with guns, maybe not quite as bad as ammo.

So over priced stuff on Armslist if he wants to go that route...
Sold 4 so far on armslist ... all within a week as I didn’t try to rape anyone. Actually one I traded with my LGS. A P227sas that I wasn’t using very much. Gave me about $50 more than I paid for it. I really think he looked up the wrong gun on his computer. Good time to thin the herd if you are so inclined.

Don't think it is Covid 19 as much as Antifa + BLM + Biden/Harris and nightly riots in the bigger cities and spreading out in the country. Anymore you don't have to go in a bad part of town to get in trouble just being in the wrong place at the wrong time can ruin your day. A lot of people trying to buy guns to protect themselves and family that never thought things would get as bad as they are now. Unfortunately a lot of people waited to late to get a gun so they are forced to buy one at an outrageous price if they can find one at all.

The pandemic response illustrated what our government is ready, willing, and able to do to us.
The riot response illustrated what our government is unwilling to do to protect us.
The large city next door is on track to break a 30 year record for murders, and their residents are venturing out where I am at for their bank and store robberies and rolling gun battles.

That first one has many of us isolated into the middle of geographical areas where we do not have access to firearm retailers, and can not visit every store in the area to track down what we are looking for. Online prices are marked up from suggested retail, and auctions quickly bid up from there. If you have a question about a vague item description, the seller will make sure to answer it after the item is sold to someone else. And a lot of online retailers are not even offering high demand items for online purchase, with "in store only" tags.

4 years ago there was a good chance that an anti-2nd Amendment globalist who despises free and independent Americans could have become the POTUS, and that scenario could happen in just a few short months.
Not to say 'we told you so', but back then people should have stocked up on firearms, and especially ammo.. instead of accusing those who did stock up of wearing tinfoil hats and being 'hoarders'.
I feel sorry only for the people who are now becoming of age to be able to own a firearm.

Don't believe it has anything to do with 'covid' (the media induced pandemic) . More like an election year and the fear of a far left socialistic anti-gun, PC, president/vice president being elected. And how any freedom minded red blooded American could even vote hard left is way beyond my way of thinking.....

Very old but sad news.
Not just Ruger though.

Gun makers/ammo makers kinda went through/goin through positive cases & it affected their production. At the same time demand went out the roof. They are all pumping out product, but just simply can't catch up. Guns & ammo are goin to distributers, & the biggest retailers are gettin it first, what there is to get. Covid 19 doesn't make you thinkin about arming yourself, but idiots attacking people, stealing their property, tearing up & burning their property does. Add on to that idiot mayors of certain cities defunding police, AND, makin new rules, & laws that make their job a lot harder. If we get a liberal President, the race will really be on.

everywhere just about is just gouging the crap out of everyone from arms to parts to ammo.i went to bed decided upon an ar15 i was going to buy the next day and they raised the price overnight $300 for no reason except they could. i asked them if i dropped cash would they sell for the previous days price and besides being rude as hell... a nice way to say what they told me was no dice i should have bought it yesterday. so obviously i went and bought the 2 i was going to buy from them from someone who wasn't insane.
business is business. I hope I can say that, if not please just wipe that out for me, don't want a ban the first week or two i start posting.

That’s called Adam Smith’s supply and demand curves functioning as they should. Not “price gouging”. They shouldn’t sell it to you for yesterday’s price when they have twenty people standing line willing to pay today’s price.

If you wanted to pay yesterday’s price you should have bought it yesterday. If you wanted to pay last year’s price you should have bought it last year.

To be honest I’m losing patience with people who were surprised by this. A person would have to be brain dead to think that the same panic that happened in 2016 wasn’t going to happen in 2020.

The gun manufacturers were offering screaming deals for the last three years. Now I’m culling out undesirable or unreliable guns for really good money. The ammo manufacturers were offering non-stop mail in rebates on their websites to incentivize people to buy rimfire or 9mm ammo. I’ve got two new Buck 110 Folding Hunters because Federal was shipping them out free if you sent them proof of purchase. I had an entire pallet of shotgun shells shipped to my door in 2019, at an amazing price / box, so that I could shoot trap, skeet and sporting clays through at least spring of 2021.

If you just turned 18 or 21 this year and are only now able to buy a gun, then I’m sorry you’re late to the party but hopefully the election goes well and things will be normal in twelve months. Otherwise please don’t complain about showing up late to the party and all the food and drinks are gone.

From Ruger’s website:
PRODUCT AVAILABILITY MESSAGE
We greatly appreciate the high interest in our products. The demand for many of these products has far outpaced the supply, especially over the past few months. Please know we are producing and ship these high-demand models every day! Our almost 1,600 employees, across our three manufacturing facilities are working hard to stay safe, stay open and to continue to meet consumer demand.
As a reminder, we sell our goods through a two-step process to wholesale distributors. Because of this, we have no control over the order in which retailers receive our firearms. It is standard that the largest and best paying retailers receive hard-to-get merchandise first. I am sure that your retailer will be able to get these high-demand models for you at some point; please be patient.
This being said, please beware of placing a non-refundable deposit on any firearm at this time. There is not a retailer in the country that can guarantee you a time frame for delivery until their distributor ships them the firearm.
Thanks for your understanding and support!

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION
During this challenging time, our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our employees and the communities in which we operate. We also are working to ensure the prompt, quality customer service you have come to expect from Ruger.
We are taking a number of steps to protect our employees, including reducing the number of employees in any one space at a given time. As a result, we have reduced the number of Customer Service employees both taking calls and repairing firearms at any given time. As a result, our phone wait times and repair turnaround times may be longer than usual. We ask for your patience and understanding as we do our best to balance the health and safety of our employees and communities with our desire to provide superior customer service.
Under the circumstances, we recommend that customers carefully consider whether service is required at this time. If not, please consider delaying return of your firearm for service until the situation normalizes. Of course, if you are concerned with the safety or reliability of your firearm, please do not use it and contact our Customer Service Department to make arrangements for service. We recommend using our Online Support Request Form below, as we are able to more quickly respond to these submissions during these expected longer phone wait times. We remain committed to offering the best customer service in the industry, and will do our very best to repair and return your firearm as quickly as possible.

The potential for a Harris Administration with Joe Biden combined with the militant communists of Antifa and BLM trying to take over the country has caused those that never owned firearms to buy them and those that have them to stock up on ammo. Self defense is a strong motivator so another $50 to $100 more for a firearm is not unreasonable to them not that they knew what was reasonable anyway. With the Covid restrictions manufacturers are in a bit of a bind. They want to run wide open but government restrictions are limiting them. Even with a Trump victory I suspect the ship won't right itself until after 2021.
