I agree that often times there are some things missing as our boys grow into men in modern society. IMHO, there seems to be a pervasive problem with young ladies as well, but that would be a topic for another book or even a series, IMHO. [B)]
I write and have more than one book started over the years, but they never get finished and would likely never make it to the publisher (I can be lazy that way). Some parts of the books are actually typed on a Tandy Model 100 or the WP-2 and others are still running around in my head. As I recover, I always intended to write in earnest, but I figured I would go back to political activism (pushing for freedom) and use my writing skills there. Likely there is one book in me for a lifetime, but who knows if I will every truly finish it and actually see it all the way through publication. It seems like I am too busy fighting the fight to stop, reflect, and collect it into a coherent tome.
One day I will listen to the throngs of friends, peers, and professors that have told me to write some books or at least a collection of essays. Perhaps one day...
My wife will search our public library system for Wild at Heart (by John Eldridge). I will give it a good read and when finished will make sure my son reads the book as well. As I used to so do, he loves reading. If we like it, we will buy a copy to add to the family library.
Thanks for the interesting reading suggestion and pleasant discussion as well. [8D]
