Is it any wonder that the NY Times is trying to pit one group of firearms owners against another. The real villain here is the gun free zone advocates that don't want firearms in the first place.

Yep!
Until we can get back to teaching safe gun handling in schools along with safe sex.

Then the fear of even the sight of a gun will begin to ebb. ;)

Whether concealed carry or open carry should be allowed on school grounds being legal or Illegal will not make one bit of difference to a deranged person looking to harm someone. I also don't buy that children will be frightened at the sight of a respectable looking adult carrying a fire arm into the school. This argument is only being brought up by the Anti Gun crowd to push their agenda.

Seems to me that there are two problems here:

1. The Michigan legislature and governor need to pass legislation and sign into law a bill clearing up this issue once and for all.

2. The "Liberal Indoctrination Centers" (public schools) and their anti-gun stance that have never taught our most recent generations properly about guns, and will never admit that they are a complete failure in many ways, not just on this subject. Just try to bring up the NRA "Eddie Eagle" program at a school board meeting and watch the manure hit the mechanical breeze maker.

The first problem is relatively easy to fix. The major problem is the second one has been so ingrained into the public school systems for so long that eradicating it is nearly impossible.
