Missed breakfast at the Ruger coffee shop this morning guys. I had to take my puppy to the groomers and caught some breakfast in Topeka. Looks like we got one cool coffee shop now. What's the status on the dancing girl? She still working or did Sheepdawg run her off? Looks like while I was away old Sheepdog been spreading some vicious rumors about me. First of all, I DID not swipe the towel rack and tp holder from the cafe. I have it on good authority that SD has been 'borrowing' a few parts here and there for his remodeling business. Me, I got this old cavalry sword I bolted to the floor and I just stack the tp up on it, one roll after the other - holds about 10 rolls. That way I don't have to go to the basement after it when the roll runs dry. My towel rack is a whitetail rack I tacked up on the wall - works real good if you don't forget and back into it!

My feelings is a little hurt though - here I been so cordial to Sheepdog and all and he just ain't sticking up for me atall. I just might get p.o.'d and quit coming for coffee for awhile. My camo 54 Dodge Power Wagon would probably look out of place in front of them fancy new digs anyway. (I believe Guntotingranny has the right idea. If'n I do come back, I'm wearing my old duck huntin waders. The stuff is startin' to get pretty deep in this here cafe.) See ya all later - I'm thinkin' I need that sword here purty qwik.

Sorry guys - I'm going to have to skip breakfast this morning. Wife just called and said her sister's husband passed away this morning. Got to leave work now. Tell the waitress that I'm sure going to miss her, and the breakfast didn't look too bad either.
Tom
Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and prayers. My brother-in-law has been sick for some time with enphysema (sp) and diabetes. His suffering is over now and that is a blessing. This has been a bad year. In March we lost my wife's brother Ron who was my best friend, hunting buddy and technical advisor on anything related to home repair. I lost my Mom in February and an old friend from high school and the poice department in August. Now my wife's oldest sister's husband. Kind of makes you realize just how short our time is here and how we should make the best of what we have left. This is a fun place and I'm sorry to make things gloomy today. Again, many thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

I'll be back for coffee and donuts in the morning. Tell Sheepdog not to be pestering that waitress. We need to keep her around for awhile. Kind of brightens up the place don't you think?
Tom
Good morning! That breakfast sure looks good - I'm starving. I'm also a little broke this morning so it's a good thing 2400 is gracious enough to buy breakfast. Sheepdog - they tell me you been causing that new waitress some grief. What did I tell you about that? Here Bill goes out of his way to find a nice, innocent looking little waitress for us and you have to go givin her grief. Some of us old guys have better sense than that! Try to keep your mouth closed and wipe off your chin every once in a while. Anyway, it's nice to be back to the old Ruger Forum Cafe. Weather is kind of lousy here. It's been drizzling off and on for the last 2 days and it looks like it's going to be around for awhile today. Kind of depressing - I could use a little sunshine.
Tom
I know there are LEO's and former LEO's in this forum. I'm a former, but have been advised that it would be a conflict of interest for me to do my own investigation. I'd like to report a theft. I sat down to have my breakfast that 2400 so graciously bought for me at the world famous Ruger Forum Cafe at approximately 7:00 a.m. on 10/17/06. I proceeded to the Mens room to wash my hands and upon my return, I observed that my blueberry pancakes had been taken by an unknown subject(s). Because I was not a witness to this crime, I can only relay my observations. I am fairly certain that I saw the subject (whom I believe to be Sheepdog) fleeing the scene. Ordinarily this would not have seemed unusual as this subject often runs around with no apparent destination in mind. (Sometimes he is a little confused.) The subject also has actually alluded to the fact that he was the perpretrator to others on this forum. (Again, sometimes he gets a little confused.) What aroused my suspicions was the fact that his cheeks seemed to be bulging like a chipmunk with a mouth full of acorns. I would appreciate it if some of you who were present this morning would come forward with any information you might have.

Some indiscretions are acceptable among friends, however absconding with ones blueberry pancakes in not one of them. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sheepdog's talkin' to himself again...;)
As I said earlier, he does become easily confused!
Good luck 2400 - we'll be thinking about you. Thanks for offering to replace the pancakes. This time I will be vigilant and not so foolish as to leave my table until the cakes are gone. (One never knows when a bad dog will swipe the goodies.) You know, come to think of it, Sheepdawg sounds like some of the politicians lately. They get themselves in trouble and immediately check themselves in to rehab (or obedience school). Say Mr. Nettles, how are the surveillance tapes coming? I'm sure any photos of the perp you have on tape would help to apprehend this suspect. We need to nail this guy quick before it hurts Bill's business. Can't have those unsavory types hanging out here. It will give the place a bad rep.

Rman, Sounds like the same individual that I suspect and am fairly certain has been stealing my red donut.

Sun is back today. But sounds like the highs will be in the upper 60's for a few days.
I'm hoping Mr. Nettles comes up with a photo from the surveillance tape. Maybe he will be caught red-handed (or red-donuted) and we can solve this thing for once and for all. I've been checking the roster on all the obedience schools in his area, but have come up empty-handed so far. He's hasn't checked back in here since early this morning, so I'm guessing he is laying low somewhere. He did mention something about being under the back porch. He seems to be a pretty sly dog. Maybe we can get Bill to keep a closer eye out on the donuts and cakes for us. A man could get plumb hungry around here and there is just no excuse for it - what with all the goodies that Bill serves up in the morning.

It's starting to clear up here and the temp is supposed to reach 72 today. Tomorrow we're in for a big dip back to the 50's and more rain.

Tapes??? Video tapes????? Say, guys, it being October and everything I heard there's been heavy sales of Sheepdog costumes this year-literally thousands of 'em around-no telling where you might see a Sheepdog-looking thing around doing whatever-but that's no proof of anything-kinda like Richard Nixon masks-everybody has one. ........video-should have known he'd wire the place......I missed the current class on obedience-said they had 47 Sheepdogs sign up this morning-maybe next class...... videos.....
Me thinks that old Sheepdawg left out one of his prior occupations. Kind of sounds like one of those sleazy defense attorneys doesn't he? He's already trying to cover his tail with confusion and deception. Guess what? I ain't seen no sheepdog costumes for sale in my neck of the woods. My sources tell me that about the only popular costumes in Texas this year are George W. Bush and Hillary "I forgive you honey" (you bastard) Clinton. We're goin to have you dead to rights son. Next food you'll snitch will be bread and water at the local pound.
Tom
Good job Mr. Nettles! It's a little blurry, but good enough for a positive ID. Besides that he just slipped up.
Well good morning everybody. Dang those waffles sure look good! I guess our friend Sheepdog deserves a little sympathy, what with his problem and all. (That may just be a ploy for an insanity plea.) Guess I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. He seems to be a pretty good old boy except for that one little problem. With my past experiences, I should know better than to leave food unattended. Having it swiped is actually one of the lesser evils. I've heard bad things about what happens in resturants when you send your food back to the kitchen! (Thankfully, Bill runs a class joint, so I wouldn't expect that to happen in the Ruger coffee house.)

Let's just give old Sheepdog some slack and see how it goes. Maybe the vet can give him a little counselling and prevent some of the red donut, maple bar and blueberry pancakes theft. (Mercy! When you spell it all out like that, that quite a few counts against him. Hope there's no 3 strikes and your out rule. I'd sure hate to see them have to put him to sleep.)

Hate to eat and run, but I got lots of work to do today. Keep your head up Sheepdog. There's lot's a folks out there that are a couple of bricks shy of having a whole load.

Good Morning!!! Good to see everybody up and about. A good breakfast this morning. Granny left for Ok. City this morning and going to be gone for a three days, so I'll probably spend most of my time at the coffee shop eating donuts and admiring the new waitress. I know Sheepdog won't mention it to Granny.
I think you might want to be a little cautious there KP97. I sure won't tell on you. Kind of thought I might do the same if I can get some of this work done. You got to be a little careful of Sheepdog though. Who knows what all 'sydromes' he might have. Could be he is a compulsive tattletale along with his other 'little problem'. Be safe and enjoy your 'breakfast'!
Tom
Great way to start out the day RP. By the way, I guess you know that Sheepdog has a little 'syndrome' going, so best you have your red donut delivered to the house. Letting Sheepdog guard the donut plate is like letting an old codger like me guard the dressing room at the Miss America Contest. We've pretty well accepted that he does have a problem, but that doesn't make the food stay around any longer.:D:D
Tom
Good morning - breakfast sure looks good this morning. The jury is still out on the waitress though. Only good thing is that it's safe for me to open up the Tavern now without looking over my shoulder. Guess us old fools should be happy she don't weigh 360 pounds and have a mustache. If she gets the order right and keeps the coffee coming, I guess I'll live with it. I'm sure going to miss watching Sheepdog drool though.

I believe this is all KP97's fault. If he wouldn't have told everybody about granny leaving town, we'd probably still have the dancing waitress. Well - got to blame somebody I guess. (Seems to me like this could be kind of bad for business Bill.)

I need to thank Nettles for his subliminal message. Now that we have old Sheepdog cured of his syndrome a body can get some grub around here.

Sheepdog: You'd probably be pretty safe with that Taurus, as long as you get down range about 30 yards or so. Old eyes ain't what they used to be.

Got to try to get some work done. I'm on an interview team this afternoon. Last fella that worked in the cube next to me saw all my targets and gun pictures on my walls and decided he really liked another state agency better than this one. Go figure.

Bill, Them eggs n' bacon with toast looks good. Dish it up with a side order of golden hash browns. :D ~keeping a wary eye on sheepdog~
Now, Now RP.... Old Sheep dog claims he has seen the light! Surely we can trust him, right? [8)]

Tom, How abouts I send you my resume? I have 18+ years in the info tech field with the state of Wisconsin. Last position title was Management Info Tech 3.

Your pics of guns and targets wouldn't bother me one lil bit! No sir! I'd just pin up some of my own and we can discuss 'em over coffee n' breakfast. :)

After all, two sets of eyes should be able to guard the henhouse and keep that mangy ole dog run off. [8D]
Well it might be a little late for that now, but it sure sounds like fun. The rest of the people in this here office somehow have the idea I'm some kind of red neck. Can you imagine that?

I'm going to give old Sheepdog the benefit of the doubt. Did you see how polite he was, offering me some bacon and all? Why I hardly recognized him.

P.S. I'd be a little careful offering him trees. You get the idea, right...?

Rman-people will act like you're strange for being a sportsman and pistolero until it gets rough-then they'll want to hide out at your house where they're safe....stick to your guns---literally-they won't let you down-most folks will. Hang that last target in your workspace and they ought to at least quiet down a little and buy you donuts!!
Actually, I have a target that I shot with the .40 S&W hanging on the outside wall of my cubicle. The caption says "Complaint Department. Please take a number and you will be dealt with as soon as possible." Red Neck? Maybe so.

Bet you don't get many numbers pulled!! Shame our wives aren't so easily intimidated!
Yup! My wife is just a little bit of a thing, but she AIN'T easily intimated!

While we're talking about you Calvin and I've said this before, this Early Riser thing is really special and I think everybody else agrees, Thank you. There is now 55 pages of posts on here, all interesting, humorous or both and it just keeps going.
Humor? What do you mean humor? I was dead serious about getting ol Sheepdog straightened out. Thanks to our threats, cussing, showing pictures of targets and Nettles video clips, I think we darn near got him trained. He's been mindin real good here lately. Jis tell him to sit and by George he does it. Think it was partly us and partly that rehab or obedience school or whatever.

I'm a little distressed with this here coffee shop turning into a serve yourself buffet. I got pretty spoiled with that little old waitress turned nurses aid. Well I guess you shouldn't look gift vittles in the mouth.

Wish I was at the Tulsa show with the boys. Been there once and have never seen anything quite like it. I believe they advertise over 4000 tables. All I know is, you can't see it all in 2 days.

Got to go - have to count my Rugers. Never know when some upscrupulous (sp?) character might be cartin em off to the pawn shop.

S I T??? Is that what you told me to do??? Uh-oh-I didn't hear you right, Rman----you sweep the floor in the morning!!!!! And where were YOU this morning????? We're trying to find out who was out with the girls---Calvin and WhiteDog and I are all accounted for---well????
No just a darn minute! Some of us got chores to do that keeps us away. I may be a little old and the vision ain't so good any more, but even I could see those girls were woofers.
