If you have been embarrassed due to carrying tell it here.

I was at lunch a couple of days ago talking to a couple of Ladies. When I got up from my chair, my gun and holster both fell on the floor. The clip on the IWB holster had gotten weak and slipped off the belt. The Ladies said "Oh my goodness, he's got a gun". I picked up the gun and walked into the Bathroom and put it back on. Ordered me a new holster with a belt loop instead of a clip.

Last week, I walked into the coffee shop and one of the waitresses was walking out-she spoke to me and reached to pat me on the tummy-must have thought I was real glad to see her-patted my M65 right on the butt-what a look I got!

I had a Colt 1911 fall out of a IWB in a super market. It hit the floor and went sliding. I have never owned a non-thumb release since.

I bent over at a party to pick something up and out slipped my revolver onto the floor. You could hear a pin drop in the room, after that people looked at me in a different light. I have still not been able to live that down and when friends are around trading stories that always comes up. Give it a break it was 10 years ago.

For me it wasn't embarrassing but it was awkward.

My Dad was very ill and close to passing and we were all around his bed. I recieved a big long hug from someone and they felt my P345. They sort of 'patted' it a bit until they figured out what it was and then I got a very odd look. I just smiled and shrugged. My Dad was a great guy (the greatest actually) with a wonderful sense of humor and I'm sure he would have had a chuckle about it.

25 years ago or so I was a LEO. There was a basement resturant just across the street from the P.D. One of our 'lights on but nobody's home' officers walked in wearing plain clothes. His Model 15 fell out of the holster and onto the floor. Embarassed, he quickly tried to retrieve it and ended up kicking it across the floor. Needless to say, some of the other patrons were a little frightened. Me, I was just embarassed for him.

About six months ago I was in a feed store with my wife just browsing when a gal about 10 years older than me squeezed around me in a narrow isle. She put her hand right on my G21 I was Mex. carrying! She said "Is that a gun?", I quickly (surprisingly) said "No, it's a cell phone." She said "That sure felt like a gun". I said "Cell phone." Funny thing is, we ran into her a little later and when talking about the little chicks in the cages for sale, it comes up she was retired Fish and Feathers. Another thing, I and my wife both came to the conclusion that she was somehow "turned on" by the fact that I was packing. I wouldn't state that part, except that my wife brought it up. And she is much more aware of that kind of stuff than me. And she ain't the jealous type. Just another "benefit" of packing eh? The Chicks dig it!

I was in front of the church house after church one Sunday talking to a buddy about guns, what else. Miss holyer than thou comes up to me and says how can you have guns around with all the children you got. They might get into them and get hurt. I look at her and said now why would they bother mind when they got their own. She was gone in a flash.

Well my youngin's didn't have any of their own firearms when they still lived at home anyway, but they could utilize any of mine with parental supervision. I never worried about the kids and my firearms. I made it a matter of "DAD" policy that if they ever fooled around with them when I wasn't around I'd beat them bloody. And they knew I was serious.

Four of the five still hunt and all are good marksmen. My oldest daughter harvested a 9'+ brown bear a few years ago with a 458WM I built for her.

I admire your come back also, some sheeple need to be shocked.

Back many years ago when I worked for DOJ, it was mandatory to carry your duty weapon concealed. After wearing my Commander every day, it became much like carrying a wallet. You knew it was there but you tend to forget about it.

Well, one day I had a dental appointment for a root canal. Having never had a root canal but hearing about it from others, I figured I was in for some pain. As the dentist escorted me to the chair, he asked me to take off my suit coat. While hanging it up, I asked the dentist: "Is this going to hurt a lot?" He saw my 45 and responded: "I'll do everything I can to make it as painless as possible". His eyes looked like banjos but I didn't make the connection at the time.

After the root canal (and yes it did hurt), I walked out to the receptionist desk where I heard the dentist tell one of the employees: "That guy has a gun and I was afraid he would shoot me if I hurt him". Boy was I embarrassed! I showed the dentist my badge and tried to explain why I was carrying a gun. I still don't think he bought it.

I hate going to the dentist. I'm going to try your method next time!

Wow. Thankfully, I haven't had anything like this happen. Although I was at Wal-Mart once, and my GF asked if my gun was uncovered at all back when we were by produce. I said no (I had a long sweatshirt on that you could conceal a small aircraft under), and asked why. She said a lady over there was looking at you like she saw something that shocked her. I said I have that effect on women sometimes. :D
