The firing pin is stuck forward on a 45 case without a primer. cant get oin to retract and cant removy cylinder. Suggestions

I would help if we knew what kind of gun we're talking about.

Small plastic/wooden dowel down the barrel...tap the Fp back where it belongs..inspect for damage.

Not sure how the dowel would work if I understand that a case is stuck in the cylinder. However I agree with JBnTX and would try the kroil, but beware if the other chambers are loaded with live rounds the kroil can seep into them.

Put a dowel in a pencil sharpener and give it a nice point. Put the sharpened dowel into the barrel, point first, and try to - gently - tap the firing pin free.

If that doesn't work, it may be time to get a gunsmith involved.

^^^ I believe op said it was stuck forward in a fee w/o primer, not stuck out. Wooden dowel recommendation sounds about right. If the wood is too soft and fp sinks in try to find correct caliber spent case that would slip over the dowel?? Good luck with your fix.
