I don't know if they still do it this way, but I remember working down South and seeing the trooper cars in some of the Southern states being Mustang 5.0 Shelbys and other muscle cars...this was in the mid-90s.

I have some unissued surplus German Federal Police bomber jackets that are the same green, with "POLIZEI" across the back in reflective letters, shoulder patch for the Westfalia region. I get funny looks wearing them in public....

About 2004/05 I was pursuing a car down an interstate connecting highway at about 100mph. A Virginia state trooper in a Camaro blew the doors off my 99 crown Vic and settled himself just about in the suspects trunk. After a couple miles the driver realized he wasn't going to outrun the Camaro and gave up.
