...is excellent!

Don't ask me how, but one day after snagging the clip on my Gerber Vallotton on an inanimate object one time too many it finally broke off at the edge of the grip. After that I would either just drop it in my pocket as a pocket knife or leave it sitting in the safe and carry something else.

About 2 weeks ago I finally decided to contact Gerber to see they still had any clips as this model is now discontinued. I sent an email enquiring about their availability and 2 days later I received an email saying that the new clip is on the way to me (at no charge) with some new screws and tells me what size ‘star’ screwdriver I will need to install it. I didn’t ask for a freebie but I will accept them!

So 2 days ago I received the clip and put it on and am a happy camper. It took all of about 10 minutes.

First pic shows where it broke even with the grip/cover.

I own that same Gerber and love it. I'm a Gerber and Boker fan. With the Gerber F.A.S.T. technology, the blade deploys at least as fast as either of my two Boker autos:)

I had the exact same experience. My clip didn't even break it came unscrewed. I told them that in the email thinking I was going to have to pay for a new clip. Nope.. They sent it out no charge and also sent me all new hardware for the knife. Excellent service!

I had a similar experience. I left the sheath to a Gerber multitool on the arm of a chair on the dock at a yacht club while I was up the mast. Got down from the top of the mast and we left before I could even take a wiz. A few hours later I realized that it was missing. Called Gerber up when I got home later that week and they sent a new one out gratis even though I was willing to pay for a new one.

I will continue to do business with Gerber due to their excellent service.

I routinely carry a Gerber Suspension Multi-Tool that has become my favorite. It's held up really well for 2 yrs and the sheath it came in is nicer than the one that came with my Buck knife. Outstanding product at a great price. I'm glad to hear they have ace customer service.

I'm glad to hear that Gerber has such good customer sevice. I have 3 Gerber knives , a multi-tool, a Gerber Gator Jr. and a Gerber Camp Axe II. I like all of them. Gerber makes one of the best knives for the money that one can buy IMHO.

That is good to hear. I will be buying a Gerber next time. I have a Boker tactical and lost one of the screws and the associated spacer. Boker was kind enough to send me the same kit that you got (screws, spacers, and clip) for only $5.00:rolleyes:

I have two Multi Pliers and a Gator. I used to have a nice skeletonized EZ Out. I lost it one time too many, and didn't find it the last time I lost it.
I was sick about it. I really liked that knife.

I just wish Gerber's knives were as good as they were in the 1980s.

I've had my Gator and one of my MPs since 1995.
I carry my newer MP at work every day.
I need to send my old MP in to Gerber for repairs. The pliers broke.
I like the MP because I can open it one handed. I don't use the knife blades very much, because I carry a dedicated pocket knife, but I use the pliers and screwdrivers all the time.
Sometimes, the right tool is the one you have on hand.

I agree their CS is excellent! A few years ago I had a Gerber multi-tool & one of the accessories broke off. I called CS & they told me to send it in. It took less than a week to get it back to me & they even threw in a brand new velcro carry pouch. I can't say enough about them.

I just emailed Gerber's customer care department today to ask them about a replacement sheath for my multi-tool. About an hour later I checked my email and there was a response from Gerber telling me my sheath would be mailed wihtin the next 4 to 5 business days at no charge. Now THAT is what I call customer service big time. I promise to buy nothing but Gerber knives and tools whenever possible because of this.

I had one their multi-tools since they first came out in the 80's. Broke one of the tools a few months ago. Sent it in. They sent it back. Along with a new one which was actually an upgrade since my model is not made anymore.

For military (AD,Veteran, Retired) and LE there are some knives available they will not sell to the general public.
