For 25 years I packed a revolver of some kind when fishing or just walking the trails my county has to offer. Recently my mindset shifted to more capacity on hand is a good thing. So I sent my Glock 40 (10mm) off to Barsto Precision for the following: drop in barrel, Novak nite sites, barsto guide rod, 24lb spring, trigger job /ghost rocket. Honestly I had no idea what a ghost rocket was until I looked it up.

I wanted a high cap that could reliably shoot Buffalo Bore 220 grain hard cast outdoorsman load. Out of a six inch barrel should achieve lower end 41 magnum ballistics. I almost bought a les Baer 1911 6 inch 10mm for $3200 but for how beautiful and great that gun is, my Glock will get it done if I do my part.

Even before the modifications the Glock functioned flawlessly. I was told for the heaviest loads upgrades are needed for the longevity of the gun. The BB loads are easy to shoot, folks say the 10mm recoils a lot, I never thought so. 15+1 with Glock reliability and Barsto enhancements makes for a grade A trail companion.

Glocks moving in on Blackhawk 44 Magnum territory. Seems like you got it all worked out. Your Glock 40 looks clean and slick. Which of your modifications gave the gun the strength to handle the heavy loads? Or is it all of them?

I’m not a gunsmith but the Barsto smith said a guide rode and stronger recoil spring are a must for that load

Pretty soon you'll be replacing the trigger group to get a non-mush trigger pull and having a steel grip frame made to get the weight up to handle that recoil and after you get tired of throwing your perfectly good brass into the weeds never to be found again... you'll be back with us revolver people.

Hand gun recoil depends so much on hand placement. Even in 10MM. Which 10MM target stuff is not "buffalo bore" :ROFLMAO:But if a gun frame fits your hand well, allowing proper grip and trigger control, the difference between 9x19, 40, 45, and 10MM is pretty mild in the big picture. of course, the opposite is true too, which is why I never met a .380 I like. At least I think that's why
