Hello..I just recently purchased a ruger 9mm carbine and tried swapping out the magazine well to fit glock mags. After all said and done the rifle diesnt seem to rack forward after I insert a glock 19 single stack mag. Does this option not accept the glock 19 mag or am I missing something

you should post your question in the Ruger semi-auto rifle sub-forum, you are more likely to get a reply there.

If the mag is empty then the bolt won't release because of the magazine catch. It will close on a full mag or you need to express the follower to allow the bolt to ride forward.

I have never seen a single stack Glock 19 magazine in my entire life. You sure you're not trying to fit a Glock 48 magazine?

single stack 10's are all we can have...

Alas, 10-round, single-stack Glock magazines are all I've ever seen - I have a Glock 19, Gen 3 and a Glock 23...some of us live in One Of Those States....:(

I'm looking forward to being able to use my 10-round, single-stack Glock magazines in a PC Carbine (hopefully, a birthday present to myself in July)

I'm hoping the current panic buying of firearms and ammo occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic will subside by then, and stock will be available in the stores - where I live, it's just more convenient for me to go to Turners (I live across from one) or Bass Pro (bit more of a drive to Rancho Cucamonga) and purchase firearms and/or ammunition - I'd love to take advantage of online sales, but then that involves shipping to a FFL, and the savings are often lost in the fees charged (I'm not begrudging the need for a FFL to make money)

I looked in the manual and at shop ruger in the insert section and it just says Glock magazines. I think if you look at the width of the well and the width of the magazine you can see that a single stack mag is too narrow and even though it may somehow stay in, it’s not going to work properly. A Glock 19 magazine is a double stack magazine even if it is a limited to 10 rounds. Remember it not the round count that is the determining factor but the width. A Glock 18 33 round magazine works fine because it’s the correct width and it’s double stack. A Glock 43 magazine is single stack and holds 6 but is clearly narrower. Pretty sure that’s your problem, just a incompatibility issue of magazines.

The best way to get a compatible Glock 10-round double stack magazine is to get a couple of Glock 26 magazines. These are true 10-round double stack magazines, not modified larger capacity ones.

I have an "AR9" designed for Glock magazines and the G26 magazines work perfectly. They are also pretty inexpensive and the low priced ETS versions work well.

Edit: Nevermind I finally found a pic of one. First time ever seeing one.
