22 Ways to be a good Democrat

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make The Passion of the Christ for financial gain only.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, and Thomas Edison & A.G. Bell .

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States .

21. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers off on Christmas Day but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."

22. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.

Truer words were never spoken. On the issues of firearms/guns there is a great dissertation on the S&W, I know, wash my mouth out with soap and water, forum about how the 2nd ammendant should be stricken from the Constution.

For you folks that like to think you are well bred and educated it makes a good read and to be a member of other forums is a good idea also because you get a little wider educational base.

I would highly recommend reading the other forum about the second ammendment. Some of you may remember Nikita Khrushchev's statement from his U.N. speech. We, Communism, will bury you from within. Sure enough, it's happening. Socialism is creeping into this country at a higher rate than is realized. Every time I think of this I think of Great Britain and how a few hundred years ago it was one of the greatest powers on the earth and now is impotent and attracts about as much attention as Jamaica.

Is this the leagcy of the United States? God, I hope not.

Baldy, re: #22----I are one and I will share this! Thanks for posting it-and for your part to keep Americans thinking! Amazing how when you get right down to black and white-black is still black and white is still white---it's only grey if you spin it.

Not wishing to start a political rant, But I agree with all of you. Sheepdog, you called it
correctly---black and white is slowly and surely turning to gray in our society.

I've noticed that, too---I think that's because we know what they'll pull to get our guns- and it's personal with us----lots of folks never look farther than their food bowl!!!

But all is not black & white. If the Repubs give us Rudy, or McCain, don't think for a second that our guns are safe. Rudy is almost as rabidly anti-gun as current New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, another anti-gun Republican. The NRA has given recommendation to pro-gun dems over anti-gun repubs in many races. Don't mean to make the tilt meter go off, but how many here would vote that way if it came down to it?

I have warned about Political and Religious topics before. This thread started as a form of political bashing, but a lot that start as gun rights end that way. All Republicans are not pro gun and all Democrats are not anti gun. When you start labeling a party pro or con anything you are going to cause a lot of dissension. As many members that we have on this board, there are going to be both parties. If we want to keep this board the way it is we are going to have to refrain from topics where we know we are going to hurt someone's feelings. This board started as a gun board and not as a political board. There are plenty of other boards that allow political controversy, and I sure your political topics will be welcome there. I am locking this thread.
