I decided to turn my GP100 Stainless 6" 357mag into a longer range paper shooter.

1. Weig-a-tinny rail - picatinny style rail mounted in/on front/rear sites
2. Holosun HE503CU-GR - 65MOA Circle with a 2MOA dot in center, green.
3. Wilson Combat 246 Sprig kit, 8#, 10# Trigger springs and 9#, 10#, 12# Hammer springs

The stock trigger/hammer springs in my GP100 make for a long and heavy double action and I want to lighten as much as I can and still function reliably and safely. My question for the forum folks is... what spring combo worked best in your Rugers?

I can’t imagine using double action on a deer. Going lghter on the hammer spring will increase lock time, and this could cause you to lose a small amount of accuracy.
Here's a thread I started recently on the same subject: Is A Ruger GP100 Adequate For ...

The previous owner I bought my 6" GP100 from (as a hunting revolver) installed a Wolff Spring kit; trigger pulls very smooth.

Where in Florida are you going hunting? And, welcome to the Forum.

Good post link - thanks- I am less likely to use it for hunting, and more for outdoor longer range paper targets. Longest range in my area is 100 yards.
