Gun Logic

Eleven teens die each day because of texting while driving. Maybe it’s time to raise the age of smart phone ownership to 21.
If gun control laws actually worked, Chicago would be Mayberry, USA.

The Second Amendment makes more women equal than the entire feminist movement.

Legal gun owners have 300 million guns and probably a trillion rounds of ammo. Seriously, if they were the problem, you’d know it.

When JFK was killed, no one blamed the gun.

The NRA murders 0 people and received $0 in government funds. Planned Parenthood kills 350,000 babies every year and receives $500 million in tax dollars annually.

I have no problem with vigorous background checks when it comes to firearms. While we’re at it, let’s do the same for immigration, Voter ID and candidates running for office.

Democrapts are mentally ill...prove me wrong.....
I'm a registered Democrat. It's good cover. Keeps the state off my back. 🤣 That isn't mentally ill, that's good strategy.

Full Disclosure: Been voting straight (R) for a decade. They might get me anyways.

I thought about registering as a democrat so i could vote in their primary for the least likely candidate to beat the Republican candidate in the main election

People forget that our generation went to the moon, with sliderules. Then invented new math and Microsoft, which will never get us back there. We lost wars for the first time, 271 marines while they slept, but we invaded grenada.
Our generation invented disco, directional seafloor drilling, spray-on deodorant, abortion clinics, Love canal, and Mei Lai.
Good, bad, and ugly.

The world was right when I could put $4 of gas in my 440 GTX and get my date home safely..

Insofar as the draft, as I've said before, nothing makes a man from a boy like walking out to the mailbox.
Boot camp can't be a bad thing for young males today. Grenada.. combat is a remote.
In the unlikely event that the draft was reinstated, you would fill the ranks with people who don't want to be there.
I remember those days.
What connection is there to what Iowegan posted and the draft?
I see none. Making a man out of a boy is a very important duty. Best done at home.
The real, you and I can't tell valor very good until the fire is on. It is a bad "test" but the only true test. Seen warriors run, seen mothers fight like demons.
Freedom. It is the only way. On both sides of it responsibility is awarded to the free.

I’m spending my time adapting, instead of longing for the good old days.

There have been small victories; however, so far, I am failing miserably.

I went through basic with draftees (I was RA) and almost all the draftees didn't want to be there. The system handled them.

Ban Tobacco and night driving.

And bring back the draft.

I CAN’T be trusted WITH MY OWN safety.

I hope your joking…

Great summary. The worst thing the left does is poison minds to think that their redefinition of 'normal' and 'scientific' is actual anything but normal and scientific.

That's really funny. Democrats have been doing that to dilute the conservative vote for more than a few generations.

I've seen this and similar numbers floated around many times. Is there a source document for this? I don't disagree with the sentiment, and certainly don't doubt that it could be true, but if arguing, sources become important.

Just wondering if anyone knows where that number comes from?

It's not about your point of view. It's the way you present it and let it seep into topics that don't warrant it.

Stop trolling plz k thx.

.

From State Farms website
.

From State Farms website
State Farm uses NHSTA as the source on for their information. The problem is that they link to this page, which shows for the year 2020, less than one teen per day killed due to distracted driving.

excerpt from the linked webpage...

In 2020, there were 265 people who died in crashes that involved distracted teen drivers 15 to 19.
In 2020, there were 186 teens 15 to 19 who were killed in distraction-affected crashes. (no indication that Texting was the single source of the distractions)
In 2020, there were 239 distracted teen drivers 15 to 19 involved in fatal crashes.

Those numbers are from singlular but different linear analysis of the data so the numbers 265, 286, and 239 are not cumulative. If they were, the total would still be less than 2 per day.

So is there another source that I can use to quote 11 per day? Again, not trying to be a jerk, but I hate when the left throws numbers out there simply for affect. I don't want to do the same thing.
