Multi Ruger Owner. bought my first in 1974, a 357 Black Hawk.
I have been following up on the controversial cal 45 Colt Is or isn't it Referred to by the US military as 45LC long colt. My finding and research is 45 Long Colt is and was used by the military. and that was used in the early 1900's enough said. I have seven 45 LC weapons and I have more 45 ACP'S.

The military used Long Colt when there was also a short, rimmed .45 revolver round in service. Once the short round was obsolete, there was no need for the "Long" descriptor. Since the beginning of the 20th century just plain .45 Colt has described the cartridge adequately. I don't care what you call it, it's a great caliber. Shooters have a long collective memory. Old terms tend to stick. Welcome to the forum!
