I am new to Ruger Forum and from eastern New Mexico.
I am an old shooter and handloader and active at Handloaders Bench.
For many years I had been thinking of a Blackhawk in 44 mag.
Came across John Linebaugh's writing on 45 Colt, that convinced me that 45 Colt was the way to go.
Started to look around and found a 2002 New Model Bisley in 45 Colt. The pistol was upgraded by Bowen Classic Arms. So I ordered it, waiting for it to arrive. Also order components/dies to load for it.
I will be starting with 255 gr LSWC and looking for loads for it. I am not that familiar in loading lead bullets so not sure what load data to use. I would like to use Limebaugh's data but his is for 260 LSWC and not sure how that would work with 255 gr.
But that is the fun part, figuring out what you want, what to use and then find the right load.
I do a lot of rifle shooting up to 1100 yds. Use 6.5 Creedmoor and 284 Win.
Also load for 9mm, 38/357, 38 Super and 45 ACP normally with jacketed bullets.
