just got a ruger nmb ss 45lc & 45acp throats on 45lc and 45acp are
.450 can I open them up to .4525 on 45lc and 45 acp not sure on acp
can thay also be .4525 can you help Im new here

bruno c, Yes, .4525" is optimum throat diameter for 45 ACP assuming you shoot .452" lead bullets. If you plan to shoot exclusively .451" jacketed bullets ... you're still tight and should ream to .4515".

If you ream to .4525" and shoot .451" bullets, accuracy will be fine but you will lose about 50 to 100 fps from throat venting.

bruno c, Thanks. I ran into Ron at the Sioux City gun show last week. He looked good ... now that his meds have been changed so he can sleep. Good guy ... I miss him here on this forum.
