I completed all the prerequisites for my CHL a long time ago, and if all goes as planned, should get my license in January. Depending on the weather, destination, etc., I will probably carry either a S&W 442 or one of my Ruger P-series autos. I have lots of holsters for the J Frame Smiff left over from my LEO days. Also have some pretty good Security Six holsters. I have NO holsters of any kind for the P-Series. Anyone have suggestions for a good IWB and a good belt holster? I'm 5'7, 165 lbs (mostly beer gut)!

I have 2 holsters for my P89, a El Paso Saddelry "tortiila" holster and a Don Hume IWB holster. They are both top-notch holsters. Although it looks a little "sissy", lots of times I just put it in a fanny pack.

I am 6' 237#---have an ice cream belly-have carried my P97 and everything else at 12-2 o'clock (I'm lefty) in a Don Hume 715 IWB or a soft leather or nylon IWB with steel clip-I often raise the clip up 1/2" or so and re-sew to drop the grip behind my belt buckle-draw with 2 fingers and thumb quickly-hides perfectly and P97 is easy to carry anyways...spare clips in a nylon pouch (2) from Home Depot ( $5 for a pack of 3 sizes)in my back pocket.. If you were lefty, I'd send you a holster no cost.Belt holster-El Paso---Uncle Mike's soft-nylon--hey, I just went into my sack and found one hi-ride nylon that's ambi-give me a pm with address and I'll mail it to you. Don Hume has lots of fine belt holsters-really inexpensive.

Sounds like I'm just a mini-ruger guy. Nice to know I got big friends to protect me. (Sometimes I let my mouth overload my you-know-what) I do like the sound of that ice cream belly stuff. Guess I can't attribute mine to beer...after all, I haven't had one since last New Years Eve. Wow! In less than 2 months I can have another one. Thanks for the info Calvin.

KP97 I think your in for a good surprise with that Andrews holster you ordered. I met Paul at a gun show and he is a fine young man. Some of his cowboy holsters are works of art. I got the McDaniels IWB for my commander and I don't recon I'll ever need anything else. Good luck with yours.

I'm 5'11''/250 due to a bad case of biscuit poisoning. I also worked in an ice cream warehouse for year and a half.

I carry my P95 in a Blade-Tech UCH. This holster is very belt dependent though as it only has one attachment point. Hume has some good holsters at good prices.

Kevin at www.kdholsters.com will fix up something nice for you. He just recently added a new IWB holster that may not be on his webpage yet, but he'll build a holster to your specs. He made a holster for me that has he adopted as a regular model and has now become one of his top sellers:

Baldy, you are right. I got the holster today, just in time for Thanksgiving, and I was in a hurry to go get feed for my cattle and take the Daughter and Grandson somewhere, so I opened the package, buckled it on, and took off. Forgot I had it on. It looks like the last holster I'll ever have to buy. I'll post a picture when I get one, but it is just like the one you posted of your holster. Thanks for the Tip. :)
