I know that you will enjoy it as much as I did mine. It drew crowds every where I took it. Mine must have gone from Springfield into arsenal storage because the milling marks in the action were very sharp when I got it. The barrel was stamped 1/53. Hope yours is new too. Is hard to beat a 30/06 in a Garand. If I remember at one time someone was rebarreling them in .270 or 25/06. That would have been interesting for the non-purist.
