You purists will kill me. But I had a dream the other night about this revolver

Did the best I could with photoshop.

Basically it was a vaquero birds head grip rounded back part of the frame like a SA but it was DA with a swing open cylinder and slab side square barrel. You could spin the cylinder by the extractor like you can on a S&W.

This is the weird part it was in .45acp. I do like .45acp but my favorite round is the .357. Weirder yet even in my dream it was out of my price range and the store was quickly selling out.

I know I am completely weird. But it was cool in my dream.

I couldn't help but think of a dream I had a while back of an AR-15 that had a shotgun mounted underslung the barrel like the M203, and inside the rear A2 stock was a cut out for a automatic pistol, I believe was an Lcp or maybe a beretta cheetah. Think it was my mind trying to come up with a three gun setup for me in one package. Funny thing is I don't compete in 3 gun, and figure I am spending too much time at my work bench wrenching on guns.:D Weird how your mind works while your fast asleep, now If I could only hatch a plan to acquire that barrett I have been dreaming of.:D

Nice! I've never been much of a revolver fan, but I have always liked the looks of the Marshall style. Even though I've never shot one, I'm thinking of picking up one of these in the near future. They just look like they would be fun to shoot!

I know exactly what you mean, hours later you can't remember what your dream was about. That makes me think of one of the "great" ones like Einstein or equal,( can't remember which one inparticular) that dreamed frequently and kept a pad and pencil next to his bed, so when he awoke he wrote everything down.

I keep a note pad bedside. I've had several occasions where solutions to problems came to me in dreams. The mind is truly amazing.

I keep a pen with me while I am asleep at the firehouse, so if we have an alarm I can right down the address on my hand so I won't forget it, at home nah. If I have an interesting or problem solving solution in one of my dreams I do right it down.

I do particularily remember I had a dream about a bunch of bad guys that I had been backed in a corner by, and after several magazines of ammo out of my 1911, that had no effect on them, I had the urge when i woke up to buy a bigger gun, maybe thats why i own the 29-3, and 50AE.
come to think of it maybe thats why I also own a 1919A4 as well!:D

Now if I could just figure out how to get Jenny Mccarthy outta my dreams and turn that into reality I would be set. Mind don't fail me now.
Your right the mind is truly awesome at what it does.

I have always wanted the gun I saw in now functioning prototype form from the original Detonics company. It was a 7 shot top break 45 long colt revolver that would take modern 45 long colt loads.

Is it going into production? I hate it when they make prototypes of a dream gun and never follow through. I am still a little annoyed at marlin for doing that.

I had the same dream bout my 1911. Weird? Several times I have had dreams about defending myself with my 1911. And the bullet just fell out of the barrel of the gun.

With the chamber so high above your grip, I would think that the muzzle flip would be extreme in .357 Mag.

:DIt always seems in your dreams that your ill prepared, and bullets that normally would be devastating aren't any good against aggressors. Then you wake up and can't begin to understand, sense it makes no logical sense!

That's a nice looking revolver in a cool caliber. I don't know why I get fascinated by revolvers that shoot pistol calibers. I have one of the birdshead Vaqueros chambered in 45ACP with a 3.5" barrel and it's a hoot to shoot!

Kiwi, are you restricted from owning barrels less than 4" like your Aussie neighbors?

And by the way, I copied the below from the link and post it below as a reminder that most of us here in the states enjoy a tremendous amount of freedom:
"Please Note: If you are purchasing loaded ammunition or a firearms, you must have a police permit signed off by a member of the NZ police. Please click below for the applicable form."

i remember seeing something similar in a 1970's gun magazine . i wasted all these years thinking it was a Dan Wesson 44mag. when i saw River's pic the first thing that came to mind was that it should be a top break.
