Howdy, I'm a new Ruger owner and I just joined. My Dad recently gave me his SS Police Service Six with 4" barrel. Ser # 151-491xx. A square butt .357 with fixed sights. This gun was in his "crash kit" while he flew the bush in Alaska for several years after retiring from the airlines. He's 90 now and says he doesn't enjoy the recoil anymore. (He still packs, just a little smaller). I've read all I can about these beauties and intend to find a couple more around town over time. It had some minor pitting from being to long in the holster and too little used but I cleaned it up with 400 grit , 600 grit and a Dremel with polisher. It looks great. I'm hooked. It goes shooting later this week. Thanks for the forum. Alex

I'll try to get one taken and posted tomorrow. Where is the "BROWSE" button to get photo from my files?

You have to host them somewhere else, I think, like Photobucket or one of those other free sites. Then you put the code of URL of the location of the image, with
after it. There's probably a better explanation of it here somewhere, but that's how I do it...

Sorry, I tried to join Photobucket but they required me to give them my cell phone number and said they were going to be text messaging me and emailing me "Stuff". Not Happening. Alex

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum. Check here for info on pics.

You have a good one with the Service Six. Medium frame fixed sights makes a great camping /trail gun and works as ccw with the short barrel. It great to hear your Dad @ 90 is still going strong and is into guns. Hope to hear more from you and would love to know your Dad and hear his stories.
If you don't like photobucket, try either of these:
