Is there such an animal (kydex clip on)?

LCR .38 & .357s. I would like to find a simple, low profile, kydex clip on OWB holster. My paddle holster is too prominent IMO and I can’t seem to locate one. I like the Simply Rugged pancake that I have but it requires a belt.

Not that I’ve ever seen. You could modify one of your owb holsters by mounting two Uniclips to it https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07GCSCTKY?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
But without a belt it might be tough to draw against the holster retention
I’m really surprised that there isn’t such a thing.

I got around this by ordering a left hand kydex IWB and just wearing it on my right side as an owb

You could buy a left hand IWB holster and clip it OWB on the right side.
Also, there's this. Just go select your gun model.

I stand corrected I guess they do make one
I've thought about getting one for when I'm doing light physical activity or fishing/camping. Easy on, easy off. I have so many holsters already I just can't justify another $66 for this. And honestly this looks like any other holster. You could buy a generic left handed Kydex holster from Amazon for $20-$30 and it will be the same exact thing as what I recommended.
I’ve got a paddle but it protrudes out further than I’d like.

Buy an Ulticlip and attach it to your holster. It clips onto your pants or the belt.
Check out PJHolsters, I have two of his holsters, and one is a clip on. Carry my 1911 5 inch in it, and stays secure and close to the body. Have been using it for about 5 years now, great guy to work with, and stands behind his work.

I can't see how an OWB clip-on holster would work well with a loaded gun in it and no belt. Unless the waistband of your pants is like some thick, semi-rigid Sansabelt style.
I typically wear a belt and find it a hassle to remove one of the belt threaded holsters. it would be easier to just be able to remove a clip on holster.

Ah, ok. I get it. On the paddle-style holsters, many brands/styles do protrude noticeably from the beltline. But there are some that are fairly low-profile. You just have to search them out.
