Hello! New to the AR platform, and I was gifted my new red dot optic. I don’t want a scope for my AR just the dot. I have it mounted, but the front sight is right in the way 😔 I’ve read about others just cutting it off and shaping it with a dremel, but would really prefer to not go that route. Any suggestions on whether I should just: A.Buy a new upper to have both “stock” and “tacticool” interchangeable uppers or B.Remove front sight and gas block and install a “low profile” gas block? Thanks for your help!

Can’t you just get a higher mount to raise the red dot?
What he said.

when the aim point is in line with the site that's called "absolute co-witness"

when the aim point is above the site that's "lower co-witness"

simply put a riser under your red dot and there you are. I wouldn't go too high though. say 1/2" at the most.
