Found this and thought it might be helpful to some of the new AR shooters. Also check out Patrick Sweeney's "Book of the AR" series. Those books will tell you everything you need to know about maintenance, ammo, upgrades, etc.
Generous lube on the bolt and carrier rails will keep fouling from getting hard and keep the AR running well for a long, long time.

I've always been a proponent of liberal lube on my AR;s. Never had a problem. Good to see this in print. Thanks for the post.
