I know a lot of us will be away for Memorial Day so I figured I would start early. Wishing you all a safe travel
But let's not forget the meaning of the day.

For me the names I will never forget their faces etched in my mind.
For my Fallen Brothers 1st Inf Div. 1/16 Iron Rangers Mechanized Recon Platoon RVN 1968 and to all the fallen in all wars. May they all rest in peace

Unfortunately, over my 20+ years of service, I've known several for whom this day is dedicated.

Never forget.

We will be doing a Memorial Day drive Monday. No politics, no air horns, no political flags. Somber day of remembrance.

Someone in France remembers.

A good man who made a positive difference in my life. Bob Coleman was my Sunday school teacher when I was in my teens. A kind and soft spoken man of God. We all knew Bob was a Marine during WWII, but it wasn't until after his death did I find he was a Sgt. in the First Marine Raider Battalion, a rather special group who at times operated behind Japanese lines interupting communications, supplies, and generally doing any damage they could. Bob was one of the toughest of the tough, but you'd never know talking to him. Imagine my surprise shortly after moving to our present home that Bob's grave is less than half a mile from my front door. I look forward to seeing Bob again.

A Great Uncle, killed in France, 1918. We think a friend took the photo of his grave in France and sent it home to his wife.

This Sgt.Maj's gaze says more than I can write. American Cemetery, 2nd. Battle of the Marne 1918.

Marine Memorial, Belleau Wood France 1918.

Gettysburg National Cemetery.

Americas civil war was a huge event in human history. The most bloody civil war recorded in history. The effects it had world wide were FAR reaching. Perhaps our revolution was more pivitol, but you would be hard pressed in the argument.
Never except in ancient egypt, had there been a war to end slavery. Freedoms children brought it forth.
Anyway happy memorial day! Stay armed! Do not let Arlington and its enshirened be forgotten!

My Dad passed just over 10 years ago. An Army WWII Vet.
Lost my cousin just two months ago. He was quiet so many did not know, but had been a Ranger.

My US Flag will fly respectfully.
There are some special fireworks that are quite appropriate. On my range.

SALUTE
