Hello Forum Members,
I'm new to Ruger forum, this my first posting here. My 1956 Old Model Single Six Lightweight (LW) broke its hammer plunger at the range the other day. I've been trying to locate one at the usual places like, Midway, Brownells, Gun Parts Corp, etc. but nothing is available. The Hammer plunger from a New Model Single six is not the same part and is thinner in diameter even if it was to be modified to fit (I've already tried unsuccessfully). My LW is unconverted and I would like it to remain that way. Anyone have a spare Old Model Single Six Hammer Plunger (new or used) they could sell me? or tell me somewhere that stocks them? Thanks for your help!

You may have better luck checking with any gun smiths in your area. They might happen to have something lying around.

Suggestion:

Line up broken plunger.
Cut a piece of same-diameter drill rod very slightly longer.
Grind flute to match original.
Oil.
Install in hammer and check for smooth movement.
