If it does not have a number with a dash In front, you are looking at 1966. 66 started at 22906 and 67 at 77384.

What list you looking at? The first step is you need to know how to read a serial number list.

Ruger 10/22 Serial Number History.

The serial numbers are listed with the starting serial number then they increment up. Serial number 22906 was made in 1966. The serial numbers went up until 1967 then the serial numbers started with 77384. Your serial number is 61185 which is between 22906 and 77384 which means it was made in 1966.

What's up with this?
You just don't know how to read the list:

111-95550 1973 - this was the FIRST serial number of 1973
113-04149 1974 - this was the FIRST serial number of 1974

Therefore your 112- xxxxx was made during 1973.........

Got it??:)

that Ruger serial number list is not accurate for recent long guns, and even recent guns if the guns are not Ruger, but TALO, Lipsey's, or Davidsons, etc.

just tried looking up a stainless 10/22 TD purchased last year.. nope:

"Sorry, we are unable to locate that serial number."

lookup:

on the Gulf of Mexico

p.s. i have had success with other Ruger products

#. - year of production
1 -1964
453 -1965
22906 -1966
77384 -1967
Etc.

So 52265 would be sometime in 1966 since 77384 starts 1967 production of 10/22’s

This cant be a serious thread right? Everyone that posts this question has exactly one post and that's it.
Also, who cant figure it out? Its on Rugers website, it cant get any easier than that!

It was easier before Ruger put in the enter your serial number here page. It only covers post 2000 guns. If you put in a pre 2000 number you get this

Sorry, we are unable to locate that serial number.
Please make sure you've entered the serial number EXACTLY as it appears on your firearm, including any hyphens and with any leading zeroes.
Not all serials numbers (particularly ones shipped before records were kept electronically) are available via this lookup. For older records, please select a product line below to view it's approximate first serial number shipped for the indicated year or contact Customer Service.

You can view approximate starting serial number (by year) for products prior to 2000 using the selection box below.

Some people just give up at that point and ask for help. You see it on every firearm forum from Browning to Sig. They seem to have an issue in understanding where their number fits in.

It’s not that hard to be nice and try to answer their question.
